Designer of the Week: Vera Wang Part II

Vera Wang has triumphed and shown that one failure does not mean defeat. Wang was a senior fashion editor for Vogue for sixteen years. In 1985, she left Vogue after being turned down for the editor-in-chief position currently filled by Anna Wintour and joined Ralph Lauren as a design director for two years. In 1990, she opened her own design salon in the Carlyle Hotel in New York that features her trademark bridal gowns. Since then, Wang has done nothing but grow and expand her brand in a dynamic way. In 2007 she also connected with Kohl's in doing a line now know as Simply Vera Wang which is a more affordable line for young fashionistas everywhere. Vera Wang is admired and applauded for not stopping just because there was a roadblock put in her way. Instead she made her own road of fashion that will be remembered and worn for years to come! http://www.verawang.com/fashion/
