Face of Marc Jacobs?

Face of Marc Jacobs?

Today was a whirlwind of a day to say the least. I was contacted last night by Marc Jacobs team to let me know that I was a finalist to be the face of Marc Jacobs.  I was appalled.  I couldn't even believe it. I had randomly submitted my information on the last day after a friend of mine let
me know that Marc Jacobs wanted to cast a real person and not a celebrity.  After receiving the call I was super excited and tried not to get my hopes too high but being the face of Marc Jacobs is huge so I couldn't help it. We are talking billboards, fashion ads and your face being put in the fore front. Along with me, there  were about 30 hopefuls that were in the running. As I talked to the other candidates I learned that they had came from all over. Some from Korea, Russia, Cali, etc. I thought to myself as I looked around the room "Who would have thought the girl from Arkansas  would have even had a chance to be considered for such a major offer?" As we went through the castings it all just seemed surreal. I was photographed on a blank canvas and then asked to wait and they would let us know at the end.
In the end I was not chosen as the face.  Was I disappointed?  Well of course but I had to look at the bigger picture.  For such a recognizable brand such as Marc Jacobs to take notice of me speaks volumes.  This is only one of the many disappointments I have faced but at the end of the day it's about getting back up and trying again. I could choose to feel sorry for myself or I can choose to get up and keep going. My dreams are valid and so are yours.  This is only the beginning for me.
